About Us?

Avater
quote

My name is Nigar, and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Minds in Motion Foundation team for giving me an incredible opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Through my involvement with MIMF, I gained valuable experience in the field of nuclear and radiation sciences. I had the chance to work on modelling and simulation tasks, which helped me understand complex physical processes and their practical applications in radiation detection and safety. This experience not only strengthened my technical background but also inspired me to develop my knowledge in scientific terminology, especially in the context of nuclear and radiation technologies. I realized how essential precise and standardized terminology is for effective scientific communication and collaboration across international teams. Thanks to MIMF, I have grown more confident in my research abilities and more motivated to contribute to the global scientific community. I am deeply grateful to the entire team for their mentorship, collaboration, and support in shaping my professional path.

My name is Mamed, and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Minds in Motion Foundation team and the DETMED project consortium for providing me with an outstanding opportunity to gain experience in photodiode production and its applications in advanced medical technologies. Within the framework of the DETMED (Detector Technologies for Medical Applications) project, I focused on the development and optimization of micropixel avalanche photodiodes (MAPD) — highly sensitive semiconductor detectors used in radiation and medical imaging systems. Through this work, I gained hands-on experience in device fabrication, testing, and quality evaluation. From an economic and practical perspective, I learned how locally produced photodiodes can significantly reduce the cost of surgical and diagnostic devices, particularly those used in minimally invasive operations and image-guided procedures. By integrating domestically manufactured components, healthcare institutions can lower their dependency on imported technologies, enhance reliability, and promote innovation-driven growth within the national medical technology sector.

My name is Yasin, and I am a student of UNEC (Azerbaijan State University of Economics) specializing in engineering technologies. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Minds in Motion Foundation team for the unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the production and experimental investigation of micropixel avalanche photodiodes (MAPD). During my participation, I was involved in various stages of detector fabrication, including the study of semiconductor structures, the testing of electrical and optical parameters, and the analysis of device performance under different operating conditions. This hands-on work allowed me to understand the full cycle — from design and modeling to assembly and measurement. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in experimental physics, electronics, and data analysis, and learned how MAPD technology is applied in advanced detection systems such as medical imaging, radiation monitoring, and LIDAR applications. I am deeply thankful to the MIMF team and project mentors for their guidance and support. This experience has motivated me to continue my research in semiconductor detector technologies and to contribute to the development of next-generation photodetectors in Azerbaijan.

My name is Kanan, and I am a PhD student in physics. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Minds in Motion Foundation team for the invaluable opportunity to deepen my knowledge in the field of Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) technologies and their applications in medical diagnostics. Through this program, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the principles of SiPM operation, their advantages over traditional photodetectors, and their role in advanced medical imaging systems, particularly in PET and hybrid PET/MRI scanners. I was able to explore how SiPMs contribute to achieving higher spatial resolution, faster response times, and improved sensitivity — all essential parameters for early disease detection and accurate diagnosis. The hands-on experience and interdisciplinary collaboration within the MIMF environment allowed me to bridge the gap between fundamental physics and practical biomedical applications. I also developed new insights into detector modeling, signal processing, and system integration — key aspects for designing next-generation medical imaging equipment.
